We are a U10 baseball team located in Lawrence, KS looking to have fun and give our kids the necessary tools for them to become future leaders through lessons learned from sports.
We encourage our kids to have fun and share a positive attitude. Baseball is a game full of old and new traditions which is why it is fun to play. We embrace having a good time and the goofiness of the game. We want as many of the kids as possible to stay together as a team for years to come, so that they can build comradery.
Errors and mistakes are inevitable, what matters is how we react, bounce back, and learn.
Have Fun! Baseball is a game that's supposed to be fun.
Learn and master the fundamentals.
Encourage and support positive behaviors.
Why have co-coaches?
We think two heads is better than one. Since the decision to start this team, we've bounced ideas off of each other in order to appropriately set the kids up for success. Life is also busy, so having multiple coaches with the same vision will help practices/games continue without a hitch if one of the coaches has another commitment.
Baseball has been a part of my life since I can remember, from listening to stories as a little kid about my grandpa meeting Babe Ruth when he was a boy, to playing competitive summer and travel baseball through my high school days. When I came to the end of my playing time, I found that coaching was the perfect way to help spread that passtion on for as long as I could. I've coached all different ages for the last 15 years or so, and loved every minute.
My biggest focus is on mindset and mentality - As long as a kid has that in place, we can really make strides in their development.
I'm excited to get to work with this team, and look forward to meeting all of you!
I grew up in a small town in southwest Kansas, which gave me the opportunity to enjoy playing baseball from grade school through high school even though I might not have been the most athletically gifted.
While this is my first year as a co-head coach, I have helped out with teams in the past. I have found that preparation is key to having success. This is especially true with youth sports when kids are figuring themselves out. So my goal is to help the kids visualize what we want to achieve, and put it into action.
Being out on the baseball field again helps me be a kid at heart, and I truly enjoy helping the kids have fun while improving their athletic abilities and mindset.
